Staff

Pastor Mike is a family man, and when he's not spending time with his two great children and wife, Reed, he gets to oversee the direction God is leading Saraland UMC. Mike also has a heart for missions and for serving outside the walls of the church, both in our community and around the world. This is why Saraland UMC, with its community and mission focus, is a great match! He served previously as youth pastor, international missionary, and missions pastor. Mike is a graduate of Ohio Northern University (BA, History; BA, Religion), Princeton Theological Seminary (Masters of Divinity), and Asbury Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). He loves traveling to new places, trying new food, and riding his bike to work when its not raining in the Mobile area!

Officially, Linda is Office Administrator, overseeing our Finances and Office functions. Unofficially, she is the Office Mama, taking care of the needs of our staff and church members, even before they realize they need something. It would be hard to find someone more generous than Linda. She leads our Financial Peace University courses and is certified in financial coaching. Linda is married to Eldon, and both are members of Saraland UMC.

Brian leads ministries with students, grades 7-12. He's also our lead Texan on staff, which means he hasn't taken sides on Alabama or Auburn! Instead, he roots for teams like the Cowboys and Mavericks, and for Texas State, where he graduated with a BA in Communications. Brian is fulfilling his long dream to serve in full-time youth ministry, and to see young people come to know and love the Lord. He is married to Stephanie, and together they have a cute daughter, Tabitha, who is learning to walk.

Ms. Lauren, as she is lovingly known to all of the children in the church, doesn't really like sushi. But most of the kids in her ministry, children aged Newborn through Sixth Grade, don't either! Fortunately, Lauren is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, and so she has found a great niche working with the sweetest kids you'll ever meet. She is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX in Elementary Education, and she previously taught preschool and elementary school before joining our staff. Lauren is married to Jason, and together they have two girls.

Jayme might gladly work for free if he could, but we gladly pay him to do amazing work in videography, print and online communications, and leading our contemporary worship band. When at home, Jayme is an avid watcher of the Discovery and History Channels, and when at work, he keeps everyone laughing. Jayme is a graduate in Communications from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.

Heather serves as Director of our weekday Early Learning Center for ages Walking-K4. She is Mrs "Get-Er-Done," which is why we wish we had three or four of her on staff.  Prior to joining our staff team, she has worked in children's ministry, teaching, and administration settings. She studied at University of Mobile, completing a BS in Management and graduate coursework in Elementary Education. She lives in the Creola area along with her husband, Jeremy, and together they have two sons.

Dr. Sharon Hudson plays piano in our Classic Worship Service. Due to her great humility and willingness to serve, some might not realize all of her accomplishments. Sharon is on the faculty at University of Mobile as well as a private piano instructor. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Chicago and an MM and DMA in piano performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We are fortunate to have Dr. Hudson on our staff team.

She and her husband, Henry, live in Mobile and together they have two sons.
